Hi guys! Does any body know a medicine that recreate the optic nerve?

Not yet, but maybe some day. That's why I don't want to give up and get artificial eyes because I keep hoping that if stem cell research leads to nerve regeneration, I want my eyes just in case my optic nerves can be fixed.

Gosh, if I knew of a medicine that could re-create the optic nerve, I would most certainly have taken it. I had a Chorneal graft as a six-month-old baby, when no such thing could've been invented, so, three weeks later I had a secondary haemorhage which blew both my optic nerve and most of the cells in my retina, leaving me with just light and colour. Then my light and colour went just before I started school, so that was the end of that, so yes, I'd be taking that optic nerve medicine now if it existed.

I just did a very brief google search, and borojo seems to be a fruit from the Amazon that is supposed to be very nutritious. Some of the claims include lowering blood pressure, keeping blood sugar under control, and preventing cancer. I didn't see any claims about optic nerve regeneration.

put it this way, if such a thing was out already, I'd be screaming, hitting and bellowing until I got it.

Read Gemini's post about zebra fish stem cells being used for various eye conditions. It looks like science is getting closer.

oh great. and i am due for surgery to get my eye taken out on the fourth of march. looks like this optic nerve regeneration is too late for me.

I place my faith in natural cures. Not the fly-by-night stuff, but things that are either tried and true or that were really studied. This is not to say I'm against surgery, but I'll always choose naturopathic over synthetic in everything except birth control. Now, I have ROP (rrtinopothy of prematurity). I went blind at two-months-old due to a detached retina, and I'm not sure if my optic nerve is dead or if it just didn't develop. Either way, I had nine opperations as a baby, which, thankfully, I don't remember. I had my eyerices and lenses taken out, but I still have my real eyes. Does anyone know of research that's going on specifically about rop or at least about reattaching retinas? Also, I've heard that since I haven't seen in 24 years, it would be almost impossible for me to see now.

it will be impossible. yes u can get your retinas reattached, but u still will not be able to see.
